Accreditations
Dr. Teitelbaum became ABPN board certified in general psychiatry in 1996 and in child and adolescent psychiatry in 1997. He continued to re-certify in child and and adolescent psychiatry in 2006 and 2016.
Education and Post Doctoral Training
Dr. Teitelbaum received his B.A. degree in psychology in 1986 and his medical degree in 1990, both from the University of Miami, Florida. He went on to complete his internship and psychiatry residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio in 1993, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida in 1995.
Dr. Teitelbaum began his career in South Florida with Florida Psychiatric Associates in 1995 and opened his private practice in 1998. He has served the community in many ways over the years, providing care at Helping People Succeed for 18 years, Hibiscus Children’s Shelter for 10 years, DATA adolescent substance abuse treatment center for five years and Sandy Pines Child Psychiatric Hospital for many years, including serving as medical staff director and director of peer reviews.
Dr. T truly enjoys his profession, spending a great deal of time reading to stay current and routinely presenting to medical professionals, parents and teachers. He has hosted medical students to teach about psychiatry and has been published many times, including in the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychosomatics.
Dr. Teitelbaum is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the Florida Psychiatric Society, the Palm Beach Psychiatric Society, and the Eating Disorder Alliance of Palm Beach County.
In his free time, Dr. Teitelbaum enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, working on his fresh water aquariums, gardening, traveling and baking. As his patients are aware, Dr. T is known for his cartoon socks!
